- 125g brown sugar
- 125g baking margarine
- 250g porridge oats
- 2-3 tbsp golden syrup
- Heat the oven to 180oC
- Grease a medium baking tray
- Fill a saucepan with 2-3″ water and bring it to the boil then reduce heat
- Put the marg in a Pyrex bowl and stand it in the saucepan
- Melt the marg then add the sugar and syrup
- Mix well until you have a runny dark brown mixture
- Remove from the heat then add the oats
- Mix well until the oats are well covered
- Pour the mixture into the baking tray and smooth over with the back of a spoon
- Bake for 20 mins until golden brown
- Cut the flapjack into squares while still hot
- Allow to cool before trying to remove from the baking tray
