  • 4 oz (100g) lentils, cooked and drained
  • 4 oz (100g) rice, cooked and drained
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar

  7. Stuff the apples with the mixture
  8. Combine the sugar with the remaining pulp and sultanas and spread the mixture over the base of a lightly buttered baking dish
  9. Pack in the stuffed apples
  10. Bake for 45 minutes.
