Killing in The Name was a kick in the teeth when I first saw it performed live on The Word (one of many memorable performances on that car crash show) and the eponymous debut album of Rage Against The Machine was definitely a statement and did what it said on the tin…
But the follow up, Evil Empire, feels more rounded and more eloquent and I find myself returning to it as an album more than any other RATM album. Better individual tracks can be found on the other albums but this is more coherent, and IIRC comes with a reading list…
