Flapjack

  • 125g brown sugar
  • 125g baking margarine
  • 250g porridge oats
  • 2-3 tbsp golden syrup
  1. Heat the oven to 180oC
  2. Grease a medium baking tray
  3. Fill a saucepan with 2-3″ water and bring it to the boil then reduce heat
  4. Put the marg in a Pyrex bowl and stand it in the saucepan
  5. Melt the marg then add the sugar and syrup
  6. Mix well until you have a runny dark brown mixture
  7. Remove from the heat then add the oats
  8. Mix well until the oats are well covered
  9. Pour the mixture into the baking tray and smooth over with the back of a spoon
  10. Bake for 20 mins until golden brown
  11. Cut the flapjack into squares while still hot
  12. Allow to cool before trying to remove from the baking tray
